First fittings can sometimes be stressful especially for a bride, however, I want to prevent that as much as possible by providing you with some useful information to keep in mind for your fittings (see list below). Also, please email me for any further questions.
- Undergarments: The bra being the most important, especially a long-line bra, it effects the structure of your bodice dramatically. You should bring anything you would be wearing on the special occasion. Every little thing makes a difference in creating the right fit. I also carry long-line bras by Felina and sew-in cups to help along with the fitting process.
- Slip: To all brides, this is a must! The underskirt aka petticoat aka crinoline, effects the hemline of your dress as it expands the volume of the skirt. As an alteration specialist, it is my responsibility to cover different pricing for different types of fabrics that would need to be hemmed. I work with beaded, laced and multi-layered fabrics as well!
- Bustle: This regards any bridal and formal wear with a long beautiful train. I am a gown bustle specialist and design any bustle that can suit your unique style and gown. Not only I will dream up the most beautiful bustle for your special day, I will spend time showing you how to bustle the dress as well! It amazes me every time how a bustle can enhance the design work of each gown.
- Shoes: Hemming a dress is one of the most common alterations out there. Bring with you the exact shoes you have chosen to wear for the special occasion, this is to ensure a desired hem.
- Camera: At last! Don't forget to bring a camera along with your loved ones. The first fitting can be an emotionally happy time for a bride. It marks a special experience to try everything back on again and have loved ones to share it with.
